THE DEVIL, OR WHITE WALKER IS IN THE DETAILS
There is no denying the effect that Game of Thrones has readers and audience of the TV over the world and Brazil - for those who do not know, we are already the world's second largest audience of the series produced by HBO. Its mix of fantasy and brutal political plot unfolded in various types of translations and adaptations, such as board games, comic books, among others. It's always a risk, however, when it decides to create something original. And so is the script of Game of Thrones - The Telltale Series: even if approved by George RR Martin, characters, right places, and the main plot was prepared by the game company. Obviously the good work in games like Borderlands and Tales from The Walking Dead lends to some renown and security developer, but it is also true that no idea is unquestionable, with original or not. The journey by the new addenda to the world of Westeros created by Telltale has moments of pure genius, which are formed precisely because of the choice of originality. Others, however, are simply problematic. For example, I love to see North Grove, one of the game's scenarios within the books and the TV series (and perhaps this to happen, since Martin may have given a hint to developers). For the biggest fans, I ask, does Benjen is there? Even the game helped the Internet and Reddit to create new theories about the plot, many involving North Grove and Ironwood. Ironwood is a type of tree that grows in Westeros in the territory protected by the family protagonist of the game, the Forresters. It turns out that the wood is actually mentioned in three of the five books in the series, and can be linked to the art of creating DragonSteel. In fact, there are so many possibilities in the details of the game we could do just a text about it. Who wins and who dies Therein lies the White Walker in the details. First, we can pay attention to the choices: however much they may seem simplistic, it is the smallest of them that really affect the fate of the characters you control. Game of Thrones - The Telltale series is not as bold as one Until Dawn, for example: that is, the central characters are going to die or live independently of your actions. Your choices determine just how these events happen. Unless you err in one of the Quick Time Events so common in developer kits, there is Valar Morghulis ("all men must die"). And since we are talking about Game of Thrones, you can prepare for a bit of brutality and terror, because there are many swords tucked into various members of the human body. I could not expect less than that. The exploration of the game is the small choices that can generate different dialogues, and open new possibilities, and here's the cool part is that for those who enjoy knowing the games from cover to cover. The most impressive are not necessarily the consequences, but figuring out the percentage of people who have made the same choices you. Some of the most important alternatives until they reach 60 or 70% consensus, while many are well divided. What remains is a strange feeling at the same time, their choices and not care. This disproportionality can also be found in the script: while on the one hand, you will probably be identified and thus worry about one of the members of Forrester House (there are many unique types that would swallow in different archetypes, so it's easy to love at least one), secondly, not all flows with the same intensity. The meeting with well-known characters of the series is one of the highlights of the game. Lena Headey, Natalie Dormer, Iwan Rheon, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke narrate their counterparts with primacy, but the debate with Tyrion is what draws the most attention by the character's charisma and his devotion to political schemes. On the other hand, you can often feel that certain words do not quite fit, especially with respect to Mira Forrester and Margaery Tyrell. Avoiding spoilers, it can be said that there is a certain contradiction in the script and in Margaery speeches that leave the player a bit confusing. "Do it". "Ah, but you did it too well, I'll give you a little scolding." What do you mean? For fans of the series, building lines could also earn an extra dose of polishing and a little more eloquently. There is no person in the seven kingdoms that do not know it is worth noting that the Game of Thrones mechanics are very similar to The Walking Dead or the The Wolf Among Us. As much as Telltale has created history in founding point' n'clicks with the addition of Quick Time Events, there is always the moment that the formula must evolve to not fall into sameness. In this respect, there is nothing that the player can expect from different or unusual. In terms of artistic choices, the graphics of the game follow the same tradition that Telltale used in their other games. In Game of Thrones, however, is even more apparent the need for better modeling and further elaborated textures. In contrast to the characters, scenarios appear as beautiful paintings and enrich the experience. I wish the same care was applied to the figures in the foreground. Still, the most important is to give the players what they were promised. And in many ways, the game fulfills the vote. There is some cinematography by using the same cuts of the book or the series in which the characters are located worldwide, and the player switches the focus and the protagonist as the tension increases. At the same time, it is clear that this is a title for fans already consolidated Game of Thrones, since history does not lose any time to explain the rules and the history of the world. The most important is that the player will feel hopeless, tense, and ready to make mistakes, even trying to do the right thing. This is the true aura of Game of Thrones: no win some costs, all defeats all cost. The end of the tale, however, is so fast that barely enough to notice whether or what are the consequences of all their actions. Some portions of the script are lost against the outbreak of the last episode, which causes a nuisance, fueled by questionable parts of the plot and the numerous hits the key "q" (it's always the same key). Telltale makes it clear that is already developing the second season. That may be the perfect excuse for the redemption of some mistakes in the first. The truth is that, even though it has its flaws, I look forward to the next episode, and I'm happy to spend my time discussing new theories conspiracy forum before its release. At the end of the tale, the homage of Telltale creates excitement and immersion for fans who do not mind pressing the "q" so many times in a row. Who should play this game if you are as Game of Thrones fan who has spent months (counted) of his life developing theories with friends or Reddit, you should play, and then join the discussion. If you like Game of Thrones and tense political climate, or likes to say "I would never talk that" among the episodes, you can try to prove it. And finally, if you love a point'n'click mixed with QTEs and understand the basics of Game of Thrones, you will deepen. THE VERDICT With a formula that begins to spend more that still generates enough money to not need to be evolved, Game of Thrones - The Telltale Series features beautiful panoramic images, interesting characters, and incredible moments. Some, not so much. The script of competence does not remain exactly fluid in every episode, but it is worth the moments of success, they are special. The same can be said of choices: they matter more in detail in the narrative and the emergence of what the big issues. Hopefully next season, and that in it the Valar Morghulis be defined not only in intensity but in its entirety
